Bangladesh, July 22 -- Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman has said mandatory pre-case mediation is producing encouraging results by reducing the number of new cases and helping address the country's long-standing court backlog.
Speaking while inaugurating the mandatory pre-filing mediation programme in 10 districts virtually from the ministry's conference room, the law minister said the initiative is creating opportunities for litigants to resolve disputes quickly and easily without entering lengthy court procedures.
He said more effective implementation of the programme could play a major role in reducing the huge backlog of cases pending in courts.
