Bangladesh, May 17 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Saturday (16 May) called on the people of Bangladesh to pledge their support for rebuilding the nation, emphasising that his government intends to turn plans into action to improve citizens' lives.

Speaking at a rally following the inauguration of the re-excavation of the historic Khorddo Khal canal in Shahrasti upazila, Chandpur, the prime minister said: "From today, let our only mission be nation-building and state reconstruction. Let this be our commitment."

He stressed the importance of realistic and effective planning and urged citizens from all walks of life to work collectively to advance Bangladesh.
