Bangladesh, Nov. 4 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Tuesday briefed President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his recent visit to Japan and the agreements and memorandums of understanding signed between the two countries during the trip.

The two leaders also discussed the overall situation in the country and various issues related to national interests during a meeting at Bangabhaban.

The Prime Minister arrived at Bangabhaban around noon, where the President welcomed him. During a private meeting, Tarique briefed the President on his bilateral talks with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and discussions with representatives of leading Japanese organisations.
