Bangladesh, May 12 -- Six children with measles-like symptoms died across the country in the last 24 hours, although none of the fatalities were confirmed measles cases.

Of the deaths, three occurred in Dhaka division, two in Chattogram division, and one in Mymensingh division.

The information was disclosed in a press release issued yesterday by the Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

According to the release, 1,341 suspected measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of suspected cases recorded between 15 March and 11 May to 50,500.
