Bangladesh, Sept. 8 -- Three children died with measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours until 8am Monday, raising Bangladesh's combined confirmed and suspected measles-related death toll to 997 this year.

The latest fatalities were classified as suspected measles deaths, with no new confirmed measles deaths reported during the period, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The number of suspected measles deaths has now reached 897, while confirmed deaths remain at 100. The country also recorded 1,156 new suspected measles cases during the 24-hour period, taking the cumulative number to 165,304.
