Bangladesh, Sept. 29 -- A court in Kishoreganj on Monday sentenced a man to death for killing his wife in Bajitpur upazila of Kishoreganj in 2016. Kishoreganj Additional Sessions Judge, First Court, Supriya Rahman announced the verdict in the absence of the accused on Monday afternoon. The court also fined him Tk 1 lakh.

The convicted man, Ismail alias Sagar Mia, is the son of Ayet Ali of Uttar Sarachar village in Bajitpur upazila. Additional Public Prosecutor Advocate Abul Monsur confirmed the verdict.
