Bangladesh, Sept. 1 -- Allegations have surfaced that incumbent Member of Parliament Advocate Al Faruq Abdul Latif was not invited to the programme, while a candidate who was defeated in the 2026 parliamentary election was invited as the chief guest sparking discussion in Nilphamari political and social arena.

This incident happened when the freshers' reception and cultural programme for the newly admitted honours first-year students of the 2025-2026 academic session was held at Nilphamari Government College on Monday.

The programme was organised on the college premises, where newly admitted students were welcomed with flowers. Speakers also extended greetings to the students and delivered welcome addresses.
