Bangladesh, July 7 -- Intermittent moderate to heavy rainfall has been lashing Chattogram under the influence of a low-pressure system, prompting the district administration to launch a miking campaign urging residents to evacuate landslide-prone areas.

The Chattogram district administration continued miking in vulnerable hill areas across the city, asking residents to move to safer locations on Monday.

Similar announcements were made in different parts of the city on Sunday night. The district administration has also kept all shelter centres ready. Schools, colleges, mosques and madrasas located near the hills have been prepared to serve as temporary shelters.
