Bangladesh, April 9 -- The Jatiya Sangsad passed the July Mass Uprising (Protection and Liability Determination) Bill, 2026 yesterday to transform an ordinance into law previously issued by the interim government to provide legal immunity to participants of the July Mass Uprising.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed promised that the current government would soon bring a new bill to establish an international-standard, autonomous commission that aligns with the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Act and disappearance laws.
