Bangladesh, Nov. 5 -- Police have claimed to solve the murder of Saker Hossain, a joint convener of Magura municipal Jubo Dal, uncovering a link between his killing and a dispute over the division of 150 looted gold bars.

Seven people have been arrested in connection with the gold robbery, while six, including the alleged mastermind, have been arrested in the murder case, Magura police said on Wednesday.

At a press conference at Magura Police Lines, Superintendent of Police Mollah Azad Hossain said a group of 12 to 15 people, posing as police personnel, looted 150 gold bars worth an estimated Tk29 lakh and Tk60,000 in cash from a passenger transport vehicle in the Ramnagar area of Magura Sadar on October 6.
