Bangladesh, Nov. 5 -- The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is considering a grant of around Tk120 crore to modernise waste management in Chattogram, including the purchase of more than 50 modern waste-collection vehicles and the construction of a sanitary landfill.

A JICA delegation discussed the proposed project with Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Administrator Dr Shahadat Hossain at the city corporation building on Wednesday.

The proposed grant would also cover essential equipment for landfill operations, aiming to improve the city's waste collection and transportation capacity.
