Historic victory for Tigers against Aussies in 1st ODI
Bangladesh, June 10 -- Bangladesh Cricket team registered a historic 86-run victory over Australia Cricket team in the first One Day International (ODI) match, according to the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) Method at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital's Mirpur on Tuesday. After 21 years, Bangladesh won against Australia.
Bangladesh last defeated Australia at Cardiff in Australia in 2005. The Tigers beat the Aussies at their home soil for the first time.
Sent into bat first, Bangladesh piled up a mammoth total of 284 for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 50 overs and then Australia scored 191 for the loss of nine wickets in 42.2 overs before it started to rain.
