Bangladesh, April 10 -- A court here on Thursday convicted and sentence Foysal Karim Masud, prime accused in the case lodged over the murder of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, to 10-year rigorous imprisonment in a case lodged under Arms Act.

Judge Mahmudul Mohsin of Dhaka Special Tribunal-26 pronounced the judgment in Foysal's absence as he was tried in absentia.

According to the case statement, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-2 conducted a raid at a flat in Baitul Aman Housing Society in Adabar on November 7, 2024.

During the operation, Foysal Karim was detained. A search of his residence led to the recovery of two foreign-made pistols along with five rounds of ammunition.
