Bangladesh, Oct. 26 -- Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) has recommended approval of two proposals to purchase six liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes from BP Singapore Pte Limited and Qatar Energy Trading LLC.
Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury chaired the committee's 51st meeting of 2026, which was held virtually on Saturday.
According to the Cabinet Division, two proposals, both from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, were placed, discussed and then recommended.
The first proposal sought approval to buy five LNG cargoes from BP Singapore Pte Limited under the direct procurement method, in line with Section 68 of the Public Procurement Act, 2006, and Rule 99(2) of the Public Procurement Rules, 2025.
