Bangladesh, Sept. 9 -- The government's key objective is to build a humane, people-centred and environment-friendly urban system, rather than simply developing large cities, to address the challenges of unplanned urbanisation and environmental degradation, Prime Minister's Adviser for Education Mahdi Amin has said.

Mahdi, also spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), outlined the government's plan at the concluding session, titled "From Policy to Action", of the two-day National Urban Forum-2026 at a hotel in the capital on Tuesday, according to a press release.
