Four held with nearly 4,000 yaba pills in Khulna
Bangladesh, Aug. 9 -- Four alleged drug dealers were arrested with 3,958 yaba tablets during a raid in the Miyapara area of Khulna city on Friday morning, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) said.
A team of Rab-6's Sadar Company conducted the raid around 8:40am based on a tip-off, according to a press release.
The arrested are Nasir Uddin Santu, 37, his wife Safia Begum, 32, Mariam, 20, and Ayesha.
Santu and Safia are from Putikhali village in Morelgonj upazila of Bagerhat, while Mariam and Ayesha are from Balukhali village in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar, Rab said.
The couple had been living in Miyapara in Khulna.
Rab said the raid was part of its ongoing crackdown on illegal drugs under its "zero tolerance" policy.
