Bangladesh, Oct. 13 -- Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has signed agreements with 420 hospitals to provide affordable healthcare to its cleaners and introduced Tk 4 lakh in financial assistance for the families of workers who die while performing their duties.

The initiatives aim to strengthen health protection, workplace safety and welfare for cleaners, DSCC Administrator and freedom fighter Md Abdus Salam said on Monday.

Speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of beautification work at a secondary transfer station (STS) in North Shahjahanpur in the capital, he said ensuring cleaners' welfare and providing them with a safe working environment were essential to maintaining the city's cleanliness.
