Bangladesh, Oct. 7 -- Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on Tuesday handed over Tk19.8 lakh in grants to representatives of 168 Durga Puja mandaps in its area ahead of Sharadiya Durga Puja.

The grant distribution programme was held at the Nagar Bhaban auditorium in the afternoon. DSCC Administrator Abdus Salam handed over the grant money to the presidents and general secretaries of the Puja mandaps as the chief guest.

DSCC Chief Executive Officer Md Khaybar Rahman chaired the programme. Speaking at the event, Abdus Salam stressed the need for people from all sections of society to work together to protect and advance the country.
