DMP to File 50% Traffic Cases Against Drivers, Not Owners
Bangladesh, June 3 -- In a major policy shift, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has announced that at least 50 percent of traffic violation cases will now be filed directly against drivers instead of vehicle owners.
Additional Commissioner (Traffic) of DMP, Anisur Rahman, disclosed the plan on 2nd June at a press briefing held at the DMP Media Centre.
"Currently, most traffic cases are filed against vehicle owners. We are taking an initiative under which at least 50 percent of cases will be filed against drivers," said Anisur Rahman.
