Bangladesh, Oct. 7 -- Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed has said police will remain on maximum alert to ensure the safe and peaceful celebration of the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja across the capital.

"The DMP will take all necessary measures to ensure that devotees can celebrate the festival peacefully at every puja mandap in Dhaka," he said.

The commissioner made the remarks while chairing a meeting on security, law and order and traffic management for Sharadiya Durga Puja at DMP Headquarters on Tuesday morning.
