Bangladesh, Nov. 2 -- Bangladesh and Pakistan have discussed strengthening parliamentary relations through the formation of a friendship group, exchanges of parliamentary delegations and training for officials.

Pakistani High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider met Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in Dhaka on Sunday.

During the meeting, the Speaker thanked the Pakistani government for supporting Barrister Jahrat Adib Chowdhury, chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as a member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Executive Committee.

Chowdhury received the support at the 153rd IPU Assembly held in Tanzania.
