Bangladesh, Sept. 16 -- Several Diesel Electric Multiple Unit (DEMU) trains imported by Bangladesh Railway from China now lie in a dilapidated condition at the Kamalapur Railway Shed area, with their valuable machinery deteriorating under the open sky.

Bangladesh Railway imported 20 DEMU trains from China to provide improved passenger services on short-distance routes. The trains were brought in as part of efforts to strengthen passenger services on such routes.

The trains now remain in a poor condition at the railway shed. Exposed to the open sky, the valuable machinery and other parts of the trains continue to deteriorate.
