Bangladesh, Nov. 1 -- A damaged height-restriction barrier at the Pirojpur-Mograpara U-loop on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway has raised serious safety concerns, with local residents fearing a major accident if the structure collapses.

The barrier was installed to prevent oversized goods-laden vehicles from entering the area. However, a significant portion of its supporting structure has reportedly deteriorated, leaving it in a potentially dangerous condition.

A large section of the concrete foundation at the base of one of the supporting metal pillars has broken away.

The pillar appears to be leaning, raising concerns about the stability of the entire structure. A height restriction of 3.3 metres is displayed on the barrier.
