Bangladesh, Oct. 6 -- A couple was killed after being run over by a bus at Majhigati bus stand on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Kashiani upazila of the district on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Solaiman Molla, 70, and his wife Shahida Begum, 60, residents of Deola area in Alfadanga upazila of Faridpur district.

The couple got off a bus at Majhigati bus stand after travelling from Dhaka. While they were crossing the highway, a speeding bus ran over them and fled the scene, leaving them dead on the spot, said Mahfuzur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kashiani Police Station, reports BSS.

On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies. Later, the bodies were handed over to Bhanga Highway Police Station.
