Bangladesh, July 23 -- The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase on Wednesday approved two procurement proposals worth about Tk 219.87 crore for a Rohingya livelihoods programme and a solar power project at Bhasan Char.

The committee approved the proposals at a meeting held at the Secretariat, with Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury in the chair.

It approved the appointment of Padakhep Manabik Unnayan Kendra as a consulting firm for a livelihoods programme targeting Rohingyas and host communities in Chattogram division.

The firm will conduct training needs and market assessments, develop training modules and provide skills training to beneficiaries under the Department of Social Services.
