Bangladesh, Feb. 15 -- In the 13th National Parliament election, BNP won 18 out of the 19 Constituency in the division. And the candidate of Khelafat Majlis supported by 11 parties won 1 seat. However, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami could not win any constituency.

BNP candidates won 5 out 6 of constituency in Sylhet district. Of these, Khelafat Majlis candidate Khandaker Abdul Muktadir won in Sylhet-1, Tahsina Rushdir Luna won in Sylhet-2, BNP candidate MA Malik won in Sylhet-3, Ariful Haque Chowdhury won in Sylhet-4 and Emran Ahmed Chowdhury won in Sylhet-6. In addition, Mufti Abul Hasan of Khelafat Majlis, a partner of the 11-party alliance, won in Sylhet-5.
