Bangladesh, Sept. 27 -- Bangladesh needs open and inclusive educational institutions where students can freely pursue knowledge, explore diverse ideas and develop their own views through reason and conscience, said Maulana Karim Ibn Mosabbir. A former central leader of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh.

In an article titled "Different People, Different Opinions and Different Paths," he said an open campus environment was essential for building a peaceful, democratic and knowledge-based society.

Referring to the emergence of Islam and the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), he described Islam as a path towards peace and social order, contrasting it with what he characterised as the disorder and conflict of the pre-Islamic era.
