Bangladesh, Sept. 27 -- The paramilitary force Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized 5,005 Indian mobile phone displays worth about Tk 4.40 crore from a Kamalmonora forest area near the Bangladesh-India border in Bijoynagar upazila on Friday.

BGB-25 Battalion Commander Lt Col Jabbar Ahmed disclosed the information at a press briefing at the battalion headquarters on Saturday.

He said acting on a tip-off, a patrol team of Mukundapur Border Outpost (BOP) conducted a special operation from border pillar No. 2008/1-S to about 300 yards inside Bangladesh territory in the Kamalmonora area.

During the operation, the BGB team recovered 5,005 Indian smartphone displays, which had been kept hidden inside a forest.
