Bangladesh, July 1 -- The Police's Intelligence Department (DB) has requested that actor Zaher Alvi alias Niamat Ullah Bhuiyan be detained in jail after a two-day remand in a case of abetment to suicide filed in death of his wife Afra Ivanath Iqra.

He was produced before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Aminul Islam Junaid on Tuesday.Geographic Reference

The case's investigation officer, DB Mirpur Zonal Team Inspector Abdul Malek, requested the court to keep him in jail.

The application states that after a medical check-up on June 28, the accused was taken to the DB office and interrogated in various ways. Important information was found during the interrogation to help investigate the case.
