Bangladesh, July 10 -- Courts in Chattogram and Mymensingh on Thursday sentenced four people to death in two separate child murder cases.
In Mymensingh, three accused were sentenced to death in the murder case of five-year-old Nishamoni in Dhobaura upazila.
Judge Sudipta Sarkar of the Child Violence Suppression Tribunal delivered the verdict in the afternoon, sentencing Arif, Rakib and Siam to death. The court also fined each of them Tk 2 lakh.
In the same case, juvenile accused Maruf was sentenced to 11 years' imprisonment by Judge Mezbah Uddin Ahmed of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal.
All four accused were present in court when the verdict was announced.
