Bangladesh, June 30 -- Energy Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood on Monday said the country's power supply situation has improved after two generation units resumed operation, reducing the supply deficit and easing load-shedding.

Speaking in Parliament, the minister said two power generation units had gone offline on Sunday, forcing the government to impose load-shedding in parts of the country.

"Two of our power generation units had shut down, which is why we had to resort to load-shedding yesterday," he said.

Mahmood said the situation had improved significantly since then.
