Bangladesh, Oct. 1 -- Dengue cases are rising in Chapainawabganj, with 141 new patients admitted to the district hospital in 48 hours and two deaths reported at the 250-Bedded Chapainawabganj District Hospital.

They died at the hospital's dengue corner in the early hours of Wednesday. The deceased were Ferdousi Khatun, wife of Ariful Islam of Shibtala Chandlai area in Chapainawabganj town, and Mahabbat Ali, child of Monirul Islam of Arambagh area.

Dr Mahbub Hasan, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of the 250-Bedded Chapainawabganj District Hospital, confirmed the deaths and said 141 new dengue patients had been admitted to the hospital over the past 48 hours.
