Bangladesh, Sept. 15 -- A total of 1,391 sacks of stockpiled chemical fertilisers were seized from the warehouses of four fertiliser traders in Biral upazila of the district on Monday.

The traders were fined a total of Taka 1.02 lakh for illegally hoarding fertilisers and allegedly creating an artificial crisis in the market. The warehouses were also sealed following the drive, reports BSS.

Biral Upazila Agriculture Officer Rumman Akter confirmed the matter. She said the drive was conducted from 9.30 am to 2.30 pm at the warehouses of four fertiliser traders in different areas of the upazila, led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer.
