Bangladesh, Sept. 23 -- Fisheries, Livestock and Agriculture Minister Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid on Tuesday said that the scientists have a crucial role to advance the livestock sector of the country through research and innovation.

"Proper recognition would be ensured for their innovations and research achievements, as the scientists devote their intellect, labour, time and dedication to create new technologies and knowledge," he said, adding failure to recognise their contributions could reduce the interest in research in the future.

The minister made the remarks while addressing the 49th meeting of the Board of Directors of Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI) at the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock here this morning.
