Bangladesh, July 15 -- India has termed Bangladesh's request for the extradition of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina a legal matter, saying it will be dealt with in accordance with the law.

The remarks were made by Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), during the ministry's weekly media briefing in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Responding to questions on Bangladesh's extradition request, Jaiswal said extradition proceedings are governed by legal processes and that the matter would be handled accordingly.
