Bangladesh, Sept. 30 -- State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Mir Shahe Alam have stated that local government elections will commence in January, in accordance with the Election Commission's announcement.

The current government aims to deliver free, fair, and impartial local elections and will not accept any stigma associated with the electoral process.

He made these remarks on Tuesday while addressing a meeting of the Law and Order Committee-organised by the Rangpur District Administration-at the District Administration Auditorium.
