Qazigund, April 9 -- Two persons were injured after a bear attack in Lammar area of Qazigund in south Kashmir's Kulgam district on Thursday evening officials said.

The injured have been identified as Mirzaman Bokda (50), son of Mirbaz Bokda, a resident of Frestewengi Lammar, and Mohd Iqbal Bhat (52), son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat, a resident of Jaibal Lammar.

An official told the duo was attacked by a bear in the area, leaving them injured. Soon after the incident, locals rushed to their rescue and shifted them to Emergency Hospital Qazigund for treatment. Their condition is stated to be stable.
