Srinagar, April 5 -- The Traffic Police Headquarters Jammu & Kashmir has issued a public notice strictly banning the use of pressure horns across the Union Territory, warning of stringent action against violators.
The notice states that as per directions of the Supreme Court of India in the case titled Abhay Singh vs State of Uttar Pradesh & Ors., all types of pressure horns stand prohibited.
The authorities have reiterated that the use of such horns constitutes an offence under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
Officials said violators can face a fine of up to Rs.10,000, along with imprisonment that may extend up to six months. The ban covers air pressure horns, musical horns, reverse horns, hooters, trumpets and any device producing hars...
