Kulgam, April 10 -- A motorcyclist was killed and another person injured in a road accident at Manigam Mirbazar in Qazigund area along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) on Friday evening.

Officials said the accident occurred after a collision between an Alto car and a motorcycle. The impact of the crash was severe, resulting in the instant death of the motorcyclist.

The deceased has been identified as Sahil Ahmad of Reasi. The pillion rider, identified as Mohd Ayoub, also a resident of Reasi, sustained injuries and was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation.
