Srinagar, June 9 -- Srinagar- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday termed the breakthrough achieved in the strategically significant tunnel project connecting Kashmir and Ladakh a historic milestone and said it would usher in a new era of connectivity and development for the two Union Territories.

Joining Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari at the breakthrough ceremony, Sinha expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union minister for making the ambitious infrastructure project a reality.

"Today is undoubtedly a historic day. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh," the Lieutenant Governor said.
