Srinagar, July 26 -- Srinagar- Government and recognised private schools across Jammu and Kashmir will reopen on Monday after the administration decided against extending the summer vacation further, citing improving weather conditions.

Officials in the School Education Department said all educational institutions have been directed to resume normal academic activities from July 27. The decision was also confirmed by the office of Education Minister Sakina Itoo.

The schools had remained closed since July 6 after the government announced summer vacations due to an intense heatwave. The break was subsequently extended three times because of continued high temperatures, heavy rainfall, flash flood warnings and adverse weather conditions. ...
