Srinagar, June 3 -- A National Green Tribunal (NGT) panel has revealed alarming findings of large-scale riverbed mining in Budgam's Sukhnag Nallah, with an estimated 15 lakh tonnes of sand, gravel and boulders extracted.

The report highlights serious environmental damage, impacts on groundwater, fisheries and trout habitats, and points to major institutional and regulatory failures.
