Srinagar, May 15 -- Police foiled a BJP protest march towards Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's residence in Srinagar over the issue of liquor sales in Kashmir.
Several BJP leaders and workers were detained during the protest as they raised slogans demanding a ban on alcohol in the Valley.
The protestors said liquor consumption is against Kashmir's social and cultural values, while police prevented the march from proceeding further to maintain law and order.
