Srinagar, Sept. 8 -- Srinagar- A dead body was found near a bus stand shed in the Balicharana area of Jammu on Tuesday, officials said.

An official said the body was noticed near the bus stand, following which police were informed.

A police team reached the spot and initiated necessary proceedings to establish the identity of the deceased and determine the circumstances surrounding the death, reported news agency KNO.

The identity of the deceased was not immediately known, while the cause and circumstances of the death were yet to be ascertained, the official said.

Police have taken up further proceedings in the matter.
