Two Apprehended With 180 Kg Saffron Corms Destined for Sale Outside J&K
Srinagar, Sept. 12 -- Srinagar- Police in Pampore have apprehended two persons and seized around 180 kilograms of saffron corms from their possession in Befina area, officials said on Saturday.
According to police, the action was taken following specific information regarding the movement of the saffron corms, allegedly for sale outside Jammu and Kashmir, reported news agency KNT.
The two persons were intercepted at Befina, Pampore, along with the consignment. They were identified as Maqsood Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Qadir Dar, and Irfan Ali Ganaie, son of Ali Muhammad Ganaie, both residents of Befina, Pampore.
