Srinagar, Aug. 10 -- Srinagar- Traffic authorities have advised commuters to avoid unnecessary travel on vulnerable stretches of major highways in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday amid a forecast of rainfall across the region.

According to the Traffic Police Headquarters, traffic remained slow between 4 pm on August 9 and 4 pm on August 10 due to single-lane, uneven road conditions at Dawal in Udhampur and along the Marog-Kishwat Pather stretch of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.

The advisory comes as the India Meteorological Department has forecast rainfall over the next few days, raising the possibility of disruptions on vulnerable road stretches.
