Srinagar, Sept. 4 -- Srinagar- A terrorist was killed and an AK rifle along with other war-like stores was recovered during a joint operation in Budgam district of Central Kashmir, the Army said on Friday.

The operation was launched by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF in the Ashdar Gali area following specific intelligence inputs, officials said.

In a post on X, the Army said the joint search operation was launched in the general area of Ashdar Gali.

According to the Army, troops noticed suspicious movement during the operation and challenged the individuals. The terrorists responded by opening fire, triggering an exchange of gunfire.
