Srinagar Swamped, Smart City Under Scanner
Srinagar, July 20 -- Srinagar- Hours of torrential rain on Monday brought Srinagar to a standstill, inundating roads, disrupting traffic and exposing the city's persistent drainage woes, even as the Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL) denied responsibility for flooding in several affected areas.
The downpour left major roads submerged, forcing vehicles to crawl through waterlogged streets and stranding commuters for hours. Residents in some localities staged protests, demanding permanent measures to address the recurring problem that resurfaces with every spell of heavy rain.
