Srinagar, Aug. 1 -- Srinagar- Srinagar Police have solved a murder case within six hours of recovering the body of a man from a canal here and arrested a mother-son duo involved in the killing over a financial dispute, officials said.

The body of Nazir Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Kalantpora in Hawal, was found stuffed in gunny bags in the Babademb Canal near Baba Dawood Khakhi Bridge in Khanyar on July 30, they said.

Following the recovery, Police Station Khanyar registered an FIR under Sections 103 and 238 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an investigation.

A Special Investigation Team was constituted to probe the case, officials said.
