Srinagar, June 30 -- Srinagar- Kashmir continued to reel under intense heat on Tuesday, with Srinagar recording a maximum temperature of 35.2 degrees Celsius, the season's second-highest, even as the Meteorological Department forecast widespread rainfall and a gradual fall in temperatures from Wednesday.

According to the MeT Department, the prevailing heatwave conditions are likely to persist till Tuesday before easing with the arrival of monsoon winds and the influence of a western disturbance.
